Fifty years after earning their degrees, a group of Cal State San Bernardino’s first alumni, named the Golden Grads, returned to their alma mater in September for a series of special events, right before the start of fall quarter. Out of the 59 students who graduated in 1967 — when the university was still named California State College, San Bernardino — 15 of them made it back to campus for the festivities.

To celebrate the Golden Grads, CSUSB hosted a luncheon for the group as well as a mixer for retired CSUSB alumni, faculty and staff. The next day, the Golden Grads were recognized at the annual Convocation ceremony, then toured the campus, concluding with a celebration at the Convocation reception.
