International students thrive at Global Summer Entrepreneurship Summit
Stories from the Pack by CSUSB.
"The Global Summer Entrepreneurship program was an incredible experience," shared Anhelina Nedoshytko, one of the 17 Ukrainian students from Lviv Polytechnic National University who, along with four South Korean students, took part in a two-week intensive study abroad program at Cal State San Bernardino.
The July 7-20 Global Summer Entrepreneurship Summit was designed to immerse students in the world of entrepreneurship, featuring carefully crafted sessions led by distinguished faculty from the School of Entrepreneurship at CSUSB’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration. A key assignment for the students was to develop their own business model.
Outside the classroom, the program offered cultural experiences, including a visit to Universal Studios, providing a welcome break from their rigorous academic schedule.
On July 18, the students presented their business models and had the opportunity to have lunch with CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales.

International students experience Washington, D.C.
After the summit, the students embarked on a meaningful trip to Washington, D.C. The July 20-25 trip, organized in collaboration with Van Scoyoc Associates, allowed the students to meet with U.S. Congressmen Pete Aguilar and Mark Takano, as well as Congresswoman Norma Torres. These meetings provided the students with a firsthand look at the workings of the U.S. political system and the opportunity to discuss their own experiences and aspirations.
While in Washington, D.C., the students also visited iconic landmarks, such as the Library of Congress, the U.S. Capitol, the National Museum of Art and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
"The Global Summer Entrepreneurship Summit exemplifies the power of international collaboration and education," said Robert J. Nava, vice president of University Advancement and executive director for the CSUSB Philanthropic Foundation. "Through academic sessions, cultural enrichment and meetings with political leaders in Washington, D.C., these students are empowered to become future leaders in entrepreneurship and ambassadors of cross-cultural understanding."
"The beautiful sunny weather, very friendly professors, up-to-date business examples and strategy, business cases we could learn from, and interactions with international friends – every single moment was really worth it,” said Olivia of her experience at the summit.
